At Zorah, sustainable development is not a trend or an administrative decision. Sustainable development is at the heart of Zorah’s principles.

Organic Agriculture

Most of the ingredients used in Zorah products come from organic agriculture.  Ingredients are carefully selected so as to ensure only the best materials for skin health and general health. From organic Argan oil to organic bee’s wax, Zorah encourages an agricultural approach that is both respectful to the consumer and the environment.  

Even when plant-based organic ingredients are not available, Zorah guarantees that all ingredients are free of GMOs and that their production had no impact on the health of those producing it, on its clients, nor the environment.

Fair-Trade

At Zorah, sustainable development means ensuring all those involved in the production go unharmed by ongoing trend of inhumane international trade. Zorah buys its raw materials straight from development coops and contributes to a more balanced spread of the world’s wealth.

Zorah also stimulates the local economy by manufacturing its products in Canada rather than in countries where work conditions and salaries do not promote a harmonious and equal economic growth of all labourers.

Recycling

Recycled and recyclable plastic containers, reused glass bottles to make jewellery, shipping boxes reused numerous times before being sent off to recycling,  brochures printed on recycled paper with plant-based ink, display units made of FSP wood scraps...from the beginning of its production line and distribution, to the very end, Zorah is environmentally-friendly.

The simple act of not packaging its cosmetics in useless boxes has already saved hundreds of trees since its inception.  Even the cars used by Zorah’s representatives must be eco-powered.

Research and Development

Zorah invests dearly in research and development as the science of high-end and organic cosmetic products is virtually unknown.  For more than 100 years, large cosmetic firms have opted for synthetic materials, often rejects of the oil industry that are readily accessible, instead of choosing more healthy and natural products.  Parabens, propylene glycol, EDTA, Polyethylene Glycols (PEG), phtalates, carbomers...these are but a few synthetic products dangerous to your health and the environment and found widespread in cosmetics for many years now.

This is why Zorah’s R&D team works non stop.  It is thanks to them that we have equalled and even surpassed the so-called “efficiency” of synthetic products, all without the use of harmful ingredients.  A promising success for generations to come.
